Hurricane Support
The United Methodist Church has been actively responding since the storm hit. Our support for UMCOR means that people representing Jesus through the United Methodist Church provide aid and supplies in all the affected areas. Thanks to an annual giving day, 100% of donations in response to disasters like this go directly to support relief efforts. If you want to support UMCOR’s work in response to Helene, you can indicate that on the memo line or click here to donate online.
For a more tangible way to help, we are collecting items for flood buckets, which are essential for cleaning out a flooded home. A complete flood bucket costs about $70 in supplies. If you would like to donate money for a team from Belin Memorial to purchase and assemble the buckets, please note “Flood Buckets” on your gifts. Alternatively, if you prefer to purchase items, these bundles cost around $25 each. You can find the Flood Bucket Bundle List by clicking HERE. Please ensure that the supplies are delivered by Sunday, October 13, 2024, so they can be sorted and delivered as soon as possible. In summary, here’s what you can do right now:
- Continue to pray
- Send encouragement to people you know in affected areas
- Donate any amount to UMCOR through Belin Memorial UMC – Text “Belin” to 73256. Click on the link that is sent to you, fill in your amount, and in the Fund Box, use the arrow button to scroll down to UMCOR (United Methodist Committee of Relief). 100% of your donation helps the victims.
- Donate $85 to Belin Memorial to cover the full cost of a flood bucket or a lesser amount for a partial bucket (note that the gift is for a “Flood Bucket”)
- Purchase the items listed HERE and deliver them to Belin Memorial by Sunday, October 13, 2024. Thank you for caring and helping. God bless you for it, and God bless the many who need it.
